How can you show your loved ones that you love them just the way they are?
Fred Rogers, star of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, was a friend of leading child psychologists and way ahead of his time when he frequently emphasized, “It’s you I like. The way you are right now. The way down deep inside you.”
Research has shown that children long to have their parents cherish them just as they are – flaws and all. This doesn't mean we don't need to correct our children when they misbehave or fail to complete a task. It means that parents should embrace their child's unchangeable attributes such as physical looks, personality or interests.
This equally applies to our romantic partner. They also crave to be loved for their unchangeable attributes.
